Every year, the Southwest Virginia Museum Historical State Park hosts the “Stitch in Time” Quilt Show, a cherished tradition that brings together artisans, historians and enthusiasts alike to celebrate the rich heritage of quilting in the region.

Twice a year, Southwest Virginia Museum Historical State Park hosts the WiseJAMS Music Program. The 12-week program teaches students how to play banjo, fiddle and guitar and celebrates the musical legacy deeply rooted in the Appalachian soil.

Since 1948, Southwest Virginia Museum Historical State Park has been telling the story of Southwest Virginia, from its geologic genesis to its rich and storied culture.
